I have been working at Fairview for 4 1/2 years. Currently I am the lead teacher in the Ark Infant Room. This class transitions the babies from being spoon fed to feeding themselves at the table with finger foods and from sitting to crawling to walking. All these things are to get them ready to go down to the one-year-old room. Kim and I focus on sign language with the children including “more,” “all done,” “please” and “thank you”. Signing is something that is important to me for communication and some of you may know that I am deaf. So it is important to speak slowly so I am able to read your lips although I am able to hear some. In my spare time I interpret for a blind-deaf woman at my church, I enjoy reading, playing games, puzzles, painting, attending Bible study and playing with my niece.
